Adventures in Cannabis: Get to Know Denver’s Beloved Neighborhoods

Before we became your local cannabis experts, we were Denver natives. There’s nothing we love more than this city! So today, we wanted to take some time to explore it. Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or you just moved here, this blog will sure to have some information in it for you!

So, follow along as we embark on a journey through Denver’s distinct neighborhoods, each unveiling their own charm.

Capitol Hill: The Original Downtown

To start off our exploration of Denver’s beloved neighborhoods, we’ll first be covering the one and only Capitol Hill, the original downtown of Denver. Steeped in historical significance, this neighborhood breathes life into the city’s cultural tapestry. Here, local landmarks and cultural attractions stand as timeless storytellers, weaving narratives that span generations.

As you meander through the streets, you can feel the eclectic, historic, and spooky atmosphere wrap around you, inviting you to question the history behind our city. If you haven’t heard the tales of what lives below Cheesman Park, just Google it. That’s a rabbit trail we’ll save for another time.

Furthermore, from the grandeur of the Colorado State Capitol to the quaint charm of Molly Brown House Museum, each street throughout this neighborhood tells the story of Denver’s evolution over the last 150 years.

Capitol Hill is the neighborhood we call home for our Downtown Recreational dispensary.

RiNo: Artsy Vibes & Creativity

Moving north, we land in RiNo, short for River North. This neighborhood is known for its plethora of color and creativity.

From the streets painted as canvases to the adorned vibrant murals on buildings that tell stories of the community’s artistic spirit, you won’t walk a block without seeing some sort of art. The thriving art scene intertwines seamlessly with the culinary landscape. From innovative food trucks to cozy cafes, every corner offers some of the best food this city offers.

For a true immersion into RiNo’s artistic vibes, explore the Studios at Overland Crossing or join one of the numerous art walks that grace the district.

LoDo: Historic Charm & Urban Appeal

Next, we land in LoDo, where historic charm meets urban appeal. LoDo, an abbreviation for Lower Downtown, is the spot to be for a booming bar scene, sporting events, concerts, and street festivals. From chic boutiques and trendy bars to the lively atmosphere of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, every corner exudes an urban appeal that captivates both locals and visitors alike.

The rhythm of LoDo beats to the pulse of its events. Whether it’s the lively gatherings during the First Friday Art Walks or the electric atmosphere of the Great American Beer Festival, LoDo ensures that every visit is a dynamic experience!

No surprise that this neighborhood is mostly occupied by folks in their 20s & early 30s.

Highlands: Elevated Living & Diverse Communities

Venturing into the Highlands, we discover elevated living and diverse communities which we break up into three categories; West Highland, Lower Highlands (LoHi), and Tennyson Street (Berkeley Area).

Within these neighborhoods, you’ll be sure to find an abundance of parks, delicious food, and a whole lot of dogs. From the weekly Highlands Square farmers market (in the warmer months) to the intimate culinary experiences in Tennyson Street, every experience you have within this neighborhood reminds you of why Denver is one of the best cities in the country.

Additionally, Highlands truly holds a special place in our hearts as it’s home to one of our medical dispensaries, right on 38th street.

Cherry Creek: Luxury Shopping & Upscale Retreats

Next on our journey is Cherry Creek, where bougie meets bougier. Here, upscale experiences seamlessly blend with the neighborhood’s charm, creating an ambiance that is nothing short of enchanting. Cherry Creek, known by many as Denver’s premier shopping district, is a haven for those seeking refined, high-end experiences.

From designer labels to some of the most beautiful homes you’ve ever seen, this neighborhood is where sophistication meets serenity and it will be sure to leave you with your jaw on the floor.

Sunnyside: Neighborly Sunshine & Community Delights

Last but not least, let’s get to know Sunnyside; another one of Denver’s original neighborhoods was established in 1872.

True to its name, Sunnyside basks in neighborly sunshine. Streets lined with charming homes and friendly faces create an atmosphere where everyone feels like a neighbor. Cafés like Sunny’s or Bacon Social House become more than just places to dine; they are communal hubs that stoke the fire of the neighborhood’s radiance.

Additionally, the community events are truly the glue that holds Sunnyside together. From the annual Sunnyside Music Festival to the lively gatherings at Chaffee Park, residents and visitors alike become part of a collective celebration, where the sun always shines on shared moments together!
